Jabberwocky Privacy Policy

Jabberwocky is a Chrome extension that adds a configurable book search button to Goodreads book pages.
Information Jabberwocky Handles
Jabberwocky may read limited website content from Goodreads book pages, including:
- Book title
- Author name
- ISBN or ISBN-13, when available on the page
This information is used only to build the search URL for the search engine selected by the user.
Jabberwocky also stores the user's extension settings, including:
- Custom search engine names
- Custom search URL templates
- The selected active search engine
These settings are saved using Chrome's extension storage.
How Information Is Used
Jabberwocky uses Goodreads book metadata to generate a search link when the user clicks the "Go Jabberwocky" button.
For example, if a user configures a search URL template with a {query} placeholder, Jabberwocky replaces that placeholder with the current book title and opens the resulting URL in a new tab.
Data Collection
Jabberwocky does not collect, store, sell, rent, or share user data with the developer.
Jabberwocky does not use analytics, advertising trackers, or telemetry.
Jabberwocky does not collect:
- Personally identifiable information
- Health information
- Financial or payment information
- Authentication information
- Personal communications
- Location data
- Browsing history
- User activity such as clicks, keystrokes, mouse position, or scrolling
Third-Party Search Engines
When the user clicks the "Go Jabberwocky" button, Jabberwocky opens the user's configured search engine in a new tab.
The resulting search request is sent directly to that search engine. The privacy practices of that search engine are governed by its own privacy policy.
Remote Code
Jabberwocky does not use remote code. All extension JavaScript is packaged with the extension.
Data Storage
Jabberwocky stores user settings using Chrome storage. If Chrome sync is enabled, Chrome may sync these settings across the user's signed-in Chrome browsers according to Google's Chrome sync behavior.
Jabberwocky does not send these settings to the developer.
Changes To This Policy
This privacy policy may be updated if Jabberwocky's functionality changes. Any updates should reflect the extension's current data practices.
